Jefferson Consulting Presentation:

An Overview of the Federal Market and Government Contracting
For companies in or interested in the federal market, it is critical to understand how spending cuts and the impending election are impacting and will impact the federal market. Our presentation will cover federal market trends and the basics of government contracting for companies new to or seeking to expand in the federal market. Jeremy Arensdorf is a Vice President at Jefferson Consulting Group where he manages the firm’s government practice, Jefferson Solutions, under Solutions’ President Al Burman.

Jeremy Arensdorf Bio

Jeremy Arensdorf is a Vice President at Jefferson Consulting Group where he manages the firm’s government practice, Jefferson Solutions, under Solutions’ President Al Burman. He supports federal agencies on a host of acquisition and management initiatives. These include assessing an agency’s acquisition organization, developing performance-based acquisitions, developing messaging, branding and marketing plans, and monitoring and providing analysis of acquisition legislation and policy. Jeremy also provides procurement and federal marketing expertise, proposal support, and orals coaching to Jefferson's commercial clients.

Jeremy is Project Management Professional (PMP) certified, and participates in a number of acquisition-related associations. He is active within ACT-IAC and was a panel co-lead for Acquisition Excellence 2012, a committee member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), has assisted in acquisition initiatives in TechAmerica and the Professional Services Council.

Jeremy received a Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.

Greg Haas, VP Engineering, Belcan - Bio

Greg’s 27 year career in the aerospace industry has included engineering, marketing, sales, project, and operations leadership roles with GE Aviation, Fairchild Dornier Aircraft Company as Chief Propulsion Engineer, MDS Aero Support Corporation as Vice President of Marketing & Sales, TK Engineering as Vice President of Engineering, Marketing & Sales, and CDI Aerospace as Director of Operations and Business Development. During the past 2 years, Greg has served as Belcan’s Director of Customer Programs for the United Technologies Corporation account prior to being promoted to his current position as Vice President of Engineering.

An engineer by training, Greg started his 17 year tenure with GE Aviation in 1985 as an Evaluation Engineer where he directed development assembly and test activities on the CFM56 commercial and YF120 military engine lines. He then progressed to the position of Engine Systems Project Engineer where he provided technical leadership for the F110-GE-129 fighter engine program. During this period, he earned nine technical and customer oriented achievement awards and was nominated outstanding GE engineer under 30 years old. Greg was then selected for GE’s Succeeding in Global Marketing (SIGMA) Program where he worked in four marketing and sales rotational work assignments including one with the former GE Aviation CEO, Brian Rowe, on the American Regional Aircraft Industry N250 Program. Upon graduation from the SIGMA Program, he worked as Marine Sales Manager responsible for GE’s commercial and military marine gas turbine marketing and sales activities globally. He then transitioned to the GE Engine Services Division where he served as the Marketing Program Manager responsible for developing engine upgrades including the CFM56-3 Core Upgrade launched by Southwest Airlines at a sales value of over $200M.

Greg is a private pilot, holds a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering and an M.B.A. from Miami University. In addition, he earned an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cincinnati while enrolled in GE’s Advanced Course in Manufacturing as a full-time employee.


Joe Work, VP and GM, Belcan, SEED - Belcan Corp.’s Specialty Equipment Engineering Division (SEED) – Bio

Joe Work is the Vice President and General Manager of Belcan Corporation’s Specialty Equipment Engineering Division (SEED) located in Solon, Ohio. This unit of Belcan Engineering provides highly engineered manufacturing systems for variety of diverse industries.

Joe’s 30 year professional career has been dedicated the development, design, and build of custom manufacturing systems for industry. Prior to joining Belcan, Joe was with Eaton Corporation’s Manufacturing Technology Center, which served the company by providing proprietary factory automation systems to Eaton business units. He was the team leader of the Controls Engineering Group and was a member of the center’s leadership team. At Eaton, Joe was instrumental in the development of capital equipment for programs at the Automotive Components, Fluid Power, Transmission, and Industrial Controls divisions.

Before coming to Eaton, Joe was a senior electrical engineer at PMC Industries, a supplier of pipe finishing machinery to the steel industry. His main focus at PMC was customized versions of their core equipment offerings, including the development of CNC systems.

Joe has been at Belcan for 13 years. Prior to being named to his current position, he was the Program Manager for Controls Engineering at SEED. During this time period Joe’s responsibilities have included project and technical management for many successful automation projects for clients in the energy, automotive, consumer, industrial, and aerospace markets.

Joe has a BSEE from Cleveland State University and an MBA from Lake Erie College.
